1 Year Post-Surgery & The Journey Continues

It’s been a while since my last update. Lets just say things have been very busy… I had my surgery one year ago last week. I can’t believe it has been a year.

I received a tiny fill back in March. I have nearly 10cc’s in my band. I honestly do not have much restriction at all. :( I’m really bummed out with my progress. I have not been able to break past the 35 pound mark yet.

Don’t get me wrong- I feel GREAT! I am medication free and my health numbers have greatly improved. I have no regrets from the surgery. This is a slow process. I just wish I was loosing faster; and more than 35 damn pounds!

Protein, Protein, Protein… I know already! I have really fallen off the protein wagon that is required for the program. It’s all so nasty. Okay, not all of it is bad. I have found a few protein options that I don’t mind. I have to buckle down and be a big boy.

I’ve been exercising my ass off at the gym and with my trainer. I can’t believe I’m not dropping with all the sweating I have been doing. I must not be making the best food choices. I know I have not been making the best food choices. My portion size has been too large and I could be eating healthier foods.

Starting this past weekend I am working to reclaim my focus and set some new (old) goals. The first year is over and the second has begun. Time to rein in portion size and food quality. I think I finally realize the importance of protein and I honestly love the exercise.

Time for my afternoon protein.

Time to take getting healthy seriously. You know you need to focus on what goes in your mouth. Don’t use food as a treat or reward, use food for fuel to keep the body going. Trust me, if you think 35 pounds feels good off, wait til you loose 80. Mom
